My daughters teacher recently asked us to find more challenging books for her to read. She’s in 3rd grade but reads at a 5th grade level. However, she struggles with death or sad storylines, she just wants happy books.
Some books she’s enjoyed are Mr Limoncello’s Library, The Gingerbread Witch, Diary of a Wimpy Kid, all Raina Telgemeier books, most of the babysitters club (one had a cat die and she didn’t finish it).
She recently put down Harry Potter because of Harry’s parents dying, even though she’s seen the movies and loves them.
Thanks in advance for any advice. She’s an avid reader and goes through a lot of books!
