The premise sounded really intriguing, and exactly a type of book I like (interweaving stories like Cloud Atlas or Cloud Cuckoo Land). But I just finished the second of the presumably four stories, and I just can’t stay interested. There’s soooo much stuff that just doesn’t seem to matter to the plot at all. It’s beautiful writing, to be sure, but I like it when things happen in books. The plots could probably be written in one page. Hell, the summaries of each story in the blurb on the back of the book basically say all that you need to know about the plots.

So if there’s anyone out there who has read this…Is it worth continuing? Do the stories interweave in the end? Am I just missing a lot? I’m not above quitting a book if I’m not into it, even halfway through, but I want so much for it to get better.

    1. Great thing about books is that even if you stop reading one, it’s still there for you to read later. If you aren’t enjoying it, go read something else that you do like. The book will be there waiting for you to try again, and you might really enjoy it the next time.
