Books that really take you into someone else’s life/journey

I didn’t know how to describe it, I just always like to get immersed in the character’s life journey and feelings. I like very descriptive books I guess, I want to feel part of that reality. I also like books about life in different cultures (I’m European). Some of my favorite books are: Memoirs of a geisha, A thousand splendid suns, The perks of being a wallflower (but I read it as a teenager so I might have changed), Jane Eyre and Stoner. I’d like something similar but I’m open to suggestions 😀
