I recently read the book “The Goal” by Goldratt and it had a character that ran a manufacturing plant. The character continuesly made decisions that improved his plants financial and operational situation. (The book was cheesy but low stakes easy read). I would like to read a similar book where a character progressively improves his situation by making good choices/luck/applying himself. It can be any genre fantasy/nonfiction/whatever. Any pointers would be much appreciated
