What are some of your favorite works (classic, contemporary, short story collections etc.) that tackle themes of loneliness from a male perspective, books that capture a sense of being socially outcast and alienated from society as a man. Hoellebecq, Palahniuk, Sallinger come to mind, to give a few examples. Basically, everything goes if it puts the character in a state of being a social pariah. And please, interpret these concepts as freely and openly as you want.
