I have only ever read 1 book to completion in my life. That was “The Things They Carried” and it was over a decade ago at this point but I did enjoy it. I was always more of a math guy in school.
I am looking in to getting into reading as a hobby because I know there are so many amazing stories I am missing out on my only consuming video games/tv/movies.
As far as video game stories a couple I enjoy are:
Bioshock, Red Dead, the Witcher, Detroit Become Human, Fallout, Skyrim
Movies/TV:
Anything Horror/Thriller or crime fpor movies.
A few favorite shows are GoT, Breaking bad, You, Stranger things, the haunting of hill house. Currently watching Mind Hunter and really enjoying it.
I also really love philosophy but I am looking for stories, preferably fiction, possibly more fantasy based. So if there is philosophy/life lessons all that good stuff great!
Something not too intimidating to start but any suggestions are welcome!
Thanks in advance!

I’ve always really enjoyed good survive and thrive stories. And the classics are classic for a reason, I love most of them. Top suggestions coming to me at the moment are the books I have read more than once.

Sea Wolf
Mysterious Island
Robinson Crusoe
Old Man and the Sea
Piranesi by Susanna Clarke
