What are some of the strangest examples of a book or show referring to its counterpart that made you go “wait, what?”
For me it’s the Bones tv show and the book series by Kathy Reichs that inspired it. And inspired is used loosely here because besides the fact that the main character of both is named Temperance Brennan and they are both forensic anthropologist is the end of their similarities. So it’s was already a wink and a nod when Temperance Brennan in the show started writing books about a forensic anthropologist who I believe she named Kathy Reichs. Pretty cute. But now I’m reading one of Kathy Reich’s recent books and in it Temperance Brennan’s friend is watching reruns of Bones. And my brain broke a little.
