I was wondering from those who read history books, to know of any history books that are fuzzy, warm, and the stuff you would read in a cozy blanket about brutal slaughter. And what I mean by a warm book is a book that is sort of like a story of sorts found in an old archive at some old univeristy. One that can be told like a story or can teach valueable lessons. The sort of history book that would be written by a historian, or even a master of prose and narration, and not a professor with a super cold and bland writing style that doesn’t talk as much about the lifestyle of the peoples as they do the actual history and events. This is because some history books I read have either left me into a coma or make me burn it out of pure spite (not literally, but I would like to do so). And I would much prefer these books to not have any science-based notes in it, but its fine if it isn’t. Thanks!
