hi! thanks for helping me out, im looking for suggestions for some books to read.
i used to read a lot as a kid and fell out of it as ive grown older and im looking to “return to my roots”
im a bit of a silly, unique, kind of weird guy and it’s hard to find books that appeal to me. the sort of kid that sat in the corner reading Warrior Cats, Wings of Fire, those sorts of books. i was a bit of a “im different from everyone else!” and enjoyed tuning in to worlds where the main characters weren’t human, cause being human sucked (at the time)
my interests and perspectives have changed over the years, but i still have an attachment to books that have an otherworldly feel to them. Watership Down was a book i read last year that had me glued to the pages! Plague Dogs was intriguing, and I do love Jurassic Park. ive developed a love for fantasy, action, science fiction, and also slice of life topics. i’m not so “only animals!” anymore. i don’t mind books with darker themes, though i especially enjoy books that really challenge your ideas on things. i like a large range of different books, so adventure books with lighthearted comedy and gritty introspective books are both on the table, and everything inbetween!
going to the library is a bit mindboggling at the moment, i try to pick random books to read to kind of test my interests but it’s still exhausting. i know i don’t really like romance books, or atleast books where that’s the only topic. they aren’t bad by any means, but following a story where the main plot is following the main character’s romance just doesn’t hold my attention, if that makes sense.
