I really love books but to be honest I don’t read that much because I can never really find main characters I can relate to. I’ve never been the underdog but most protagonists are underdogs, from a high school outcast falling in love with a popular boy to a girl who grew up at the bottom of the hierarchy in a dystopian world to a girl with a troubled past trying to make a career in a world with zero opportunities to a maid from the 1800s ending up in a secret plot. There is nothing wrong with underdogs, a lot of people relate to them and they teach people that they can do anything no matter who they are or where they come from, but I’m just trying to find a book that I can relate to more since I have always been the it girl who everyone assumes is mean but actually isn’t. Maybe a book with a wealthier girl who everyone assumes is a snob but just wants to be liked for who she is instead of used for her looks and money? Maybe a historical book where the main character is a royal or aristocrat who want one last adventure before they become king/queen/duke/duchess/president/etc, complete with swordfights, espionage and over the top outfits? Maybe the heir to the throne who is facing someone steal the crown from their family and they have to get it back?
I normally read NA, but I sometimes read “older” YA.

Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell is a favorite of mine about two magicians trying to bring magic back to England. They’re not underdogs so much as highly interested in magic and not much else, so their struggles are largely social.
If you’re up for a classic Emma by Jane Austen should be perfect
