    Hi everyone,

So, i am feminist and started reading work of Karl Marx and the dynamics of capitalism.
I’m looking for books suggestion that examines feminism from a Marxist perspective. Specifically, I’m interested in texts that analyze patriarchy, women’s oppression, and their relationship with capitalist structures.

If you have any recommendations or insights on books that offer such perspectives, I would be grateful for your suggestions.

Thank you for your contributions and valuable input.

    1. You should look up Nancy Hartsock’s work, her essay “The Feminist Standpoint,” and standpoint feminism in general.

    2. Next-Implement9894 on

Women, Race and Class by Angela Davis

Caliban and the Witch by Silvia Federici

Sister, Outsider by Audre Lorde (this is a collection of essays and speeches but no less impactful).

    3. It’s not exactly what you’re asking for, but i think you’ll like ”the dawn of everthing”. It examines the multitude of ways people lived together throughout history, often much less capitalistic and more in e.g. gift giving societies or with less or different hierarchies at different seasons.

Part of it also examines the role of women in historical societies. Although neither marxism nor feminism is the ”core” focus of the book, i think it hits close enough to both points that it’s an inspiring read on many of the more recent developments in archeology and antropology
