Just finished Catherine House. Book was OK, 3/5 for me. Lot’s of buildup, lots of weird stuff, definitely had some creepy vibes and some unsettling implications. Problem was that it fell a bit flat? Nothing really special happened. I’m still not 100% sure what the point of the book was. So I’m hoping for something with a bit more.
A couple of books I’ve read that I’d classify in that same space include A Short Stay in Hell, The Handyman Method, Sallow Bend, and Pines. I’ve got a long a deep “have read” list, but I know there’s more out there.
One note – I am typically reading on a Kindle or doing audio books, so please don’t suggest House of Leaves. I know I need to read that eventually…I just need to find the time.
