*MLM books only please! and No YA*
finishing “Of Sunlight and Stardust” by Riley Hart and Christina Lee (which is about a romance following a felon and a widower) and although there’s relatively a bit of angst in the beginning it got really sweet and cozy at the end (which i obviously love) but i’m craving something more tumultuous for my next read.
i want a crime/thriller audiobook with a romantic sub-plot. the characters either are very distrustful of each other in the beginning or straight up hate one another. The Kite by N.R walker is a book that starts off with assassins carrying out a hit placed on each other which was a brilliant read!
would like for a good amount of the book to be focused on trust building, hesitancy, groveling etc i want fucked up men with a myriad of trust issues!!
i also want something very action heavy! and i mean guns blazing, flying off buildings, combat action, BOMBS going off etc these could either be between both MC. i want high stakes i want danger!
would love for MCs to be body guards, spy ops, assassins, literally anything in the crime or gov world BUT cops.
For the romance part.. I CANNOT stress this enough but i want it to be extremely slow. bonus points if one or both men haven’t experienced any attraction to men prior. absolutely no insta attraction and insta sex. remember, these men are highly work concentrated and mating is the last.. or 8th thing on their minds. Since they start off barely trusting each other, them being intimate towards the end of the book instead of halfway just means a lot more to me.
I want things to start off (romantically) with little things here and there like an MC being nervous during hand contact etc then they end up getting to know one another and realizing “hey maybe this guy isn’t a pos ” then one MC gets intensely injured and the other gets to take care of him and the little physical contacts start to feel more intense BEFORE it becomes too much RAAAHHHHH
OBVIOUS HEA???? like NON NEGOTIABLE! I just don’t want things to get suddenly all mushy just because they realize they have feelings towards one another. i just want ACTION. i want a STORY. i want MOTIVES AND THE WEIGHT OF THE COUNTRY ON THEIR SHOULDERS (exaggeration.. or not) then i want the romance!! i want TRUE romance against the odds!! i don’t want the romance to suddenly over shine the whole plot of the book
no series (meaning books that span over more than one), no love triangles and no dark romances please! meaning no torture porn, no kink/BDSM or incest of any kind
btw** i’ve heard of Tal Bauer and have listened to about two books (which feature regular characters) which i’ve really liked!! his crime books tend to be really long tho (one i looked up was almost 20 hours) and i’d like to know if it stays interesting for that long? i tend to stay away from books longer than 9hrs but if the romance isn’t dragged out so much that i get sick of it and storyline stays good for that long then go ahead!!!
if you’ve made it towards the end thank you for reading my very incoherent words! please throw out all the existing audiobooks that fit the criteria to me💗💗💗💗💗😭
