Before 2020, most books in a series were published within the following year. I do think that was a quick turn around that must have led to burnout of authors. However, somehow my favorite authors managed to still write high quality works despite the timeline. I don’t mind the wait because hopefully that means better quality books or maybe it means their mental health is benefitting from being able to take more time.
But now the 2 year schedule between publishing a book means I’m not as eager to pick it up because I know I’ll forget every detail. I used to get new releases and devour them within the same month it was released. Now I don’t see myself touching a new start of a series until closer to the sequel release date.
Anyone else?
