Hi all! I’m 24 and an avid reader and would like something appropriate to read with my grandma. She’s older and religious and has mostly stuck to non fiction in fear that something “naughty” would arise hahaha. We used to read little house on the prairie together when I was a little girl. She’s a creative at heart and I want to get her imagination moving again. If you have any VERY tame book recommendations for me and my sweet grandma I would really appreciate it! ❤️ My taste leans towards stuff she would not deem appropriate lol, so I’m willing to look around at any genres but I think she’d like literary fiction vibes. Thanks in advance.

glad you read with gma…. years ago, i was in the convent and one of the old nuns loved to read…. someone donated a huge box of harlequin romances 9 this was in the early 70’s, i knew when a book was too racy for her because the floor of her room was littered with pages she tore out….

have you read the water is wide by pat conroy? non fiction but wonderful story

If you don’t mind children’s books you could do the Anne of Green Gables series. Could be a reminder of those Little House on the Prairie days.

The Enchanted April by Elizabeth von Arnim might be good depending on exactly how scandalized your grandmother will be. It was first published in 1922.

How about some other classics like Anne of Green Gables, Little Women, Pride and Prejudice, House of the Seven Gables.
