So I’ve recently gotten into sci-fi and have been really into the Murderbot series and Hyperion. I want to find more good sci-fi books, but when I’m at the bookstore, I’m just overwhelmed by all the amount of books and stories offered in the sci-fi genre. Does anyone have suggestions on what book to read?

The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams
The Ender Series by Orson Scott Card. The first book in the series is Ender’s Game. It deals with child soldiers being trained for a space war with another species. My favorite in the series is the second book Speaker for The Dead.
For a more humorous scifi story: Will Save the Galaxy for Food and Will Destroy the Galaxy for Cash by Yahtzee Croshaw. An unemployed star pilot tries to get by in a universe where transporters are a thing.
How about The Moon Is A Harsh Mistress by Robert A. Heinlein
Seriously? No one here has read Asimov? Shaking my g-d head.
Old Man’s War by John Scalzi
Ringworld by Larry Niven
Andy Weir has written two that I cannot recommend enough:
The Martian
Project Hail Mary
