    Hi everyone,

I am looking for a hard sci-fi (preferably a first contact story) to listen to as an audiobook before falling asleep.

I am torn between Childhood’s End, Project Hail Mary, and The Three Body Problem.

The thing is, I would prefer it to be a lighter read, not too complicated, since my attention span is quite short when listening to audiobooks, and I only listen to audio books while falling asleep so that makes it even worse.

I know The Three Body Problem is not a light read, but I thought since I’ve seen the Netflix adaptation I would already have a certain familiarity with the plot and it might be easier to get into.

Childhood’s End also seems enticing but I’ve read that it concentrates more on social commentary rather than the actual first contact, or futuristic landscapes and imaginarium. But I don’t know how much truth there is to that.

Finally Project Hail Mary seems like a good possibility all around, but again don’t know how complicated it is.

Any recommendations that would help me choose between these books? Or any other books you could recommend that fit my criteria?

    Cheers!
