Looking for a fiction book which somehow touches upon the topic of learning/speaking a foreign language. It doesn’t have to be the main storyline, but ideally a nontrivial part of it. Random example but I really enjoyed the part of Master and Margarita where Woland breaks into perfect Russian and his conversation partners almost can’t believe it. I also enjoyed the part of count of monte cristo(?) where he studies foreign languages in prison.
Has to be fiction though. Bonus if it was originally written in Spanish. I like the dialog to be witty and satirical. Some books I enjoyed so far: The Truce by Mario Benedetti, The Pale King by DFW, Todos Los Fuegos el Fuego by Cortazar, Pickwick Papers by Dickens
Thanks a lot for any suggestions!!

The Physician by Noah Gordon is in two parts (one physical book). The second part includes a journey to a foreign country and language learning.
