I used to read a lot when I was younger (10-12 ish, mostly read stuff like Harry Potter, Land of Stories, Kotlc stuff like that), but I kinda stopped after a while. Now that I had read manga like AOT, jjba, Bsd, junji ito etc, and now Dazai Osamu’s No Longer Human, I really really wanted to start reading novels again, since I have so many that I just haven’t gotten to. I have all of the Hunger Games books including the prequel, and I just started the third part of Catching Fire. After I’m done with all of hg, I’m considering starting any of the books I own, like Hobbit + Lord of the Rings, Shadow and Bone + Six of Crows, Narnia, The Selection, the first of Lightlark, or maybe even rereading Harry Potter since it’s been years, but prob not right now. Which of those would you recommend to me first, and what else should I check out? I’ve thought abt Percy Jackson, Shatter Me, etc but I don’t know much abt books and what’s good😅
I mostly enjoy fantasy, action and steampunk elements, tbh I’m willing to try out anything, as No Longer Human was a huge surprise to me. I really like romance, but I prefer it as a sub genre, and I love good world building, so far I love how the world building in Hunger Games is done. I don’t really know where I stand on povs other than knowing that I much prefer first person books, but I will still gladly read anything else, even multiple pov. Thanks 🙂

Some recommendations for you! Definitely Percy Jackson Series. Based off of your other reads, I think that’s a series you’d really enjoy. I just read [Godkiller by Hannah Kaner](https://www.harpercollins.com/products/godkiller-hannah-kaner) which I loved. You could also check out [Gideon the Ninth by Tamsyn Muir](https://www.barnesandnoble.com/w/gideon-the-ninth-tamsyn-muir/1129611071).
If you enjoyed Hunger Games, you could try reading [Battle Royale by Koushun Takami](https://store.crunchyroll.com/products/battle-royale-remastered-novel-9781421565989.html?utm_source=google&utm_medium=paid_cr&utm_campaign=Ecomm_US-CA_US_Ecom_Pmax_Evergreen_230101_E-COMM_MKTG&referrer=google_paid_cr_Ecomm_US-CA_US_Ecom_Pmax_Evergreen_230101_E-COMM_MKTG&gad_source=1&gbraid=0AAAAADmLVRZ7jcQVlEoM-kaS3JUqn0Ujj).
If you enjoy manga, check out some light novels. An example, [Overlord Novel Volume 1](https://store.crunchyroll.com/products/overlord-novel-volume-1-hardcover-9780316272247.html?utm_source=google&utm_medium=paid_cr&utm_campaign=Ecomm_US-CA_US_Ecom_Pmax_Evergreen_230101_E-COMM_MKTG&referrer=google_paid_cr_Ecomm_US-CA_US_Ecom_Pmax_Evergreen_230101_E-COMM_MKTG&gad_source=1&gbraid=0AAAAADmLVRZ7jcQVlEoM-kaS3JUqn0Ujj). Or [Solo Leveling Volume 1](https://www.booksamillion.com/p/Solo-Leveling-Novel/Chugong/9781975319274)
The magisterium series is similar to HP .
If you’re still open to middle grade fantasy, I highly recommend [Nevermoor](https://app.thestorygraph.com/books/6a6d5ca1-b2f5-47be-828c-018144d3bbc7) by Jessica Townsend! It’s my favorite series, and the only one that makes me feel the way the Harry Potter books used to.
Brandon sanderson! Mistborn series, reckoners, stormlight archive, skyward…. anthony ryan: bloodsong
The Villain Serie by Serena Valentino is really good. Each book is about a different Disney villain
