Not heavy fantasy!!! I do not enjoy having to learn a whole new world with magic rules. Magical realism is fine. Do not tell me to read Sarah J. Maas or Holly Black PLEASE!!!
Doesn’t have to be medieval times exactly, I’m just looking for sword fights and quests with great friendships along the way, but also countryside living, cottages, and flower field settings, not just dark castles. Outdoorsy! That fairytale/Lord of the Rings feeling without there being fae or dragons!!
I only specify that it be written by a woman because I often see women misrepresented or nonexistent in books like this. Please help!
