**A quick summa romance, chick-flic. dual perspective written by a guy, fake-dating trop in highschool. Boy wants to escape a fight with other girls boyfriend so he fake dates main character and helps her attract new guys since her brothers scare them off.**
**This is what I was able to remember the main character is in high school and has never had a boyfriend. Her family does not have money and she is the only girl with a bunch of boy siblings and only her dad. Whenever a guy is interest in her or vice versa, they always get scared off by all her brothers. One day at school (she is in highschool), one of the popular guys is about to get into a fight with another guy for hitting in his girlfriend. The girlfriend happens to share the same name as the protagonist and so she says that the popular guy was talking about her and not the other girl. The popular guy and the protagonist come up with the idea to pretend they are dating to keep im from getting beat and to show all the other guys, that she is in fact dateable. The protagonist tells her bestfriend and the popular guy tells his bestfriend too. They go on a few dates together where they both begin to fall in love. She volunteers or works at an animal shelter and he goes with her. on another date they go to a restaraunt and a guy hits on her which makes the popular guy jealous. The popular guy tells the protagonist taht she is not his type, that he is into blondes. They start to talk about being together instead of faking it. On a side note, the protagonists best friend and the popular guys bestfreidn also begin dating. Later in the book, she meets his parents who do not approve because she is not rich and instaed push a tall rich blonde girl onto him right in front of the main character. The popular guy does not stand up for the protagonsit and seesm to like the new gril so she calls it off. Her bestfriend comforts her afterwards and the protagonist commenst that the only thing left of the fake relationship is some hickeys on her neck. She is tired and does not feel tyring trying to put an outfit together and decides to wear a turtle neck to school to cover up the marks on her neck. After arrving at school, she notes that maybe she should continue “not trying” as many people are looking at her and that the fake arrangemnt seems to have worked. Her bestfriends says to look and the popular guy has made a huge golf fundraiser for her animal shelter to apologize for hisi neshavior, and they get together, for real this time. I read this book when i was a young teen, between the years of 2016-2021. The author was a make and one random quote I remember from the book is “I’ll neuter you with a pair of rusty hedge clippers”. It is also a dual point of view story from the protagonist and the popular guy.**
