I (29, m) recently read American Psycho and I’m currently halfway through Lolita
I find these sorts of books interesting and compelling because of the subject matter and the bit of depth they offer into the darker side of human nature. I also appreciate their dark humour and wittines
I don’t read an awful lot since I find it difficult to feel invested in most run of the mill books
What book would you recommend I read next? Thanks

Similar to Lolita, I would say My Dark Vanessa and Being Lolita, which was a rather emotional read for me. Then Perfume: The Story of a Murderer, A Clockwork Orange, The Minds of Billy Milligan, Sybil, Misery bu Stephen King, Trainspotting, Johnny got His Gun by Dalton Trumbo, Requiem for a Dream, The Collector, maybe Naked Lunch, Poor Things by Alasdair Grey, which fits perfectly to what you’re looking for. The rest are more about the darkness of human nature.
Catch-22 – Joseph Heller
One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest – Ken Kesey
The Wasp Factory – Iain Banks
Tampa by Alissa Nutting
Perfume by Patrick Suskind
Zombie by Joyce Carol Oates
