20th century to present is preferred, but classical is okay. I’d like to find a book of poetry or prose that does not deal with social or political issues. One that is actually good for reflecting upon and analysis. I’m really trying to develop an appreciation for this type of literature.

Devotions by Mary Oliver.
Her poetry does not tend to lean towards political or social issues, but more personal reflection and poems about nature. One of my favorites.
