Growing up I loved Michael Crichton, I read all of his novels. They weren’t all great but Jurassic Park, Sphere, and Andromeda Strain really stood out for his passion about current scientific research and his ability to tie it into an interrelating narrative.

I recently read Ministry for the Future by Kim Stanley Robinson and it brought back all the feelings of joy I had from reading Crichton as a kid.

I’m looking for more novels set in a somewhat believable setting that highlights cool applications of science and still have an interesting story.

I read Blindsight recently on recommendation and thought it was good but not what I was looking for: too far out plot wise and dismal for my taste.
