I started reading last year with my girlfriend, but since I got a TBI and slowed down and she seems to be reading for someone else now I’m looking for suggestions. I’m looking a fiction book about letting go. Of people, of anger, of just things you have been through in general like loss. I like historical fictions and classics, Monte Cristo is probably my favourite of the few I’ve read if that helps.

After a breakup a book that helped me was The loosening skin by Aliya Whiteley, literary fiction about a world like real life but where people change skin every seven years or so and after they generally can’t stay in love and for some people they even feel a need to start over in general. It’s a way of dealing with the theme of letting go and holding on and loss
