Looking for a long (500 pages+) historical fantasy set in the Victorian-ish era (or a fantasy world that feels like the Victorian era). Hoping for not super epic, more personal-stakes feeling (like the main character still has to go to work or whatever lol). City setting and romantic subplot are bonuses!
I loved Ordinary Monsters by JM Miro and Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell by Susanna Clarke!
