I usually never read classical literature, my go-to genre is Sad Girl Novels (Sally Rooney, Dolly Alderton, Daisy Buchanan, Raven Leilani) but I really loved Wuthering Heights.
What I loved about it was:
– big, grand emotions
– vibrant, interesting characters who are unashamed to express these emotions
– scandal (they’re not allowed to love each other!!!)
– the detailed writing style, focusing on mundane scenes, description of landscapes and furniture (it was basically the first sad girl novel)
Which classics from this era, or other eras, are similar in these aspects?
