Just took a weaving class (as a long time knitter and crocheter) and it’s all made me so curious about the history of textiles!
I know weaving is one of the oldest known crafts and that it’s super culturally important to a ton of cultures and I want to learn more! The significance of spinning and weaving, who was doing it, advances in loom construction, the idea of fine cloth as a status symbol, weaving as ritual in Ancient Greece and other cultures. Really anything!
I’d love book suggestions on this!
