Like some physical abuse is okay, but nothing over the top in cliche’s. I am interested in books in which the women voluntarily puts aside their power externally while building internal strength and empowerment. I’m thinking something like a Margaret Tyrell character, but with more authenticity and vulnerability. And something that one can get lost in. Like hooked and invested in at least one character. If she’s a mother and actually a relateable character, all the better. It can be fiction or memoir or anything slightly related but you just really like.
