Suggest me weird fiction books, something a little nasty maybe, that gives the reader an uneasy or eerie feeling. I’m open to all fiction genres but horror might be what I’m looking for. I don’t want the book to include any SA. Some sexual content is tolerable though, as long as it isn’t the main focus.
I don’t know if this is too niche of a wish but I’d like the book to make me feel the way the Backrooms or liminal spaces feel.
Thank you for your help! 🙂

House of Leaves may fit the bill.
Breakfast of Champions by Vonnegut (Or any book of his) comes pretty close to what you’re asking. Poor Things by Alasdair Gray is so funny and weird, even gory at the beginning. Valerie and Her Week of Wonders could result pretty strange and eerie. Brave new world and A Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy are both extremely weird science fiction novels. Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas feels like a fever dream.
Kobo Abe is very eerie and liminal. His book, Woman in the Dunes, is a particularly good one
