I love anything and everything outdoors, and am going to be off the grid for a while in the Washington wilderness. Any classic literature relating to the outdoors is up for consideration, bonus points if it connects to the Pacific Northwest in any way.
“Classic” is a loose term here, I’m really just looking for something old. 1800s is my favorite era of reading but 1950s and older is workable.
Thanks!

Walden for sure
Walden?
You might like Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein for this. The sweeping beauty provided by nature (there are lots of vivid descriptions of the French Alps) is in contrast to the emotional turmoil in the book.
Jack London comes to mind.
Rebecca.
Thoreau’s good, but Ralph Waldo Emerson wrote some great essays too, especially “Nature” and “Self-Reliance.”
Stickeen by John Muir.
My Side of the Mountain by Jean George.
Rachel Carson, such as Under the Sea Wind or The Sea Around Us
Lord of the flies
