Hey Reddit.
Recently I have been more conscious of my thoughts about the world and the actions that I take in it. I am not sure where my mindfulness has stemmed from lately, but, I am hoping that someone in this community could maybe guide me into readings that I can look into to further understand my ways of thinking.
For some insight about me and my current beliefs, I am someone that believes in a God (more specifically the one described in Christianity) but I am by no means a die hard Christian. I do not believe in the church nor many of the teachings within the Bible ( I’m still sorting the bible stuff out).
With all that said, I do believe that we have been placed on this Earth for a purpose. And that once that purpose is found, we complete our mission in this world. I believe that everyone’s mission is different as everyone is made with a certain set of skills that we are meant to discover. In other words, our purpose is already predetermined by a higher entity, but to discover that purpose, we have been placed in this world to search for it ourselves. Why? Not sure. I keep thinking that readings within Buddhism or existentialism may aid my thoughts, but at the same time, there are so many other philosophical ways of thinking that I am still confused as to which approach is best to find the right book.
Any guidance would be truly appreciated. Please be mindful that some of the terminology in my post might be used incorrectly. I apologize in advance for that. Thank you people of reddit
