I realized recently that I’ve almost only been reading books by American writers, and I feel I should probably mix it up a bit (plus some British). I’d love to read some books from English speaking countries outside the US (and outside the UK, but if you have a really really good must read I’ll check it out).
So books written originally in English (not translated to English) by non-Americans/British.
Any suggestions? Just *not* fantasy, dystopian/post-apocalyptic, YA, romance, “pro-religious”, sci-fi or nonfiction.
Open to all other genres! (and sci-fi can also be okay if it’s more “grounded”, as in something like Eternal Sunshine/District 9/Another Earth/Her/S1m0ne/Kindred etc (not read it though) type of sci-fi. **Not** Star Trek/Wars, Dune, Tron, Red Rising, Snow Crash, superhero etc type of scifi (though not read/watched all those). If that makes sense.)
The craving I’m having currently is for non-translated, I can’t explain it but I’m not generally against it. And I already have plenty of translated books on my tbr, but zero original Eng lang from other countries.
