I want to get a book as a gift for my partner for his birthday soon (late 30’s). I have plenty of ideas but I’m wondering if there are better ideas to be had here.
He enjoys things like
• Brandon Sanderson
• Hitchhikers Guide
• Harry Potter
• The Witcher
• Game of Thrones.
• He tried the Dark Tower series but wasn’t sold, but that general idea is good.
• He also enjoys Final Fantasy, Apollo 13 and space missions around that time etc etc.
I’ve been thinking of authors like Murakami, John Le Carré, more Stephen King such as The Stand (which I personally enjoyed!). I was also thinking of Dune – one of my favourites. Or maybe a Robin Hobb, like Assassins Apprentice. But are all of these too… obvious, perhaps. He isn’t a *huge* reader so I’m not too concerned he’ll have read them, I just want to try give him something he’ll enjoy or be intrigued by.
Anyway just curious if you have any other suggestions! Thank you 🙂
