I have a 3 year old that is nothing but an angel to everyone around her… except me, her mom. 🥲
I totally understand the developmental appropriateness of her leaning into her big feeling with her trusted caregiver BUT she also latches onto sentiments that she reads about in books.
Also open to suggestions on books about calming down/being nice in general.
In case this helps, here are some books that we have/she loves;
Loving Princess
Little Dino’s Don’t Bite
Calm Down Little Monkey
Learning To HELP
Please | Do You Know The Magic Word?
DAD I Love You So Much
Sophie’s Helpful Day

I love that you have Calm Down Little Monkey on there. I’ve found that books super helpful with young kids.
There is a Best Behavior book series with titles like Hands Are Not For Hitting, Teeth Are Not For Biting, Feet Are Not For Kicking, etc that might click with your toddler.
The Color Monster is a book about emotions. There are several versions, including a board book and a pop-up book! It might help your child to learn to label and differentiate their feelings.
Your Personal Penguin by Sandra Boynton
I Love My Mommy by Sebastien Braun
Cuddles for Mommy by Ruby Brown
Mommy Hugs by Anne Gutman
I Love My Mommy Because… by Laurel Porter-Gaylord
