I’m not picky, it could be a high-functioning protagonist who has more struggles than everyone else bc of their depression and has some bad days or a protagonist that is going through it (should put caps on that one) but if it’s possible I would like the book to have a bit of found family and fluff, I know this one is more specific so anything you can recommend me, I’d appreciate it

I’m gonna suggest one that doesn’t usually get mentioned for this, but In The Woods by Tana French. It’s primarily a murder mystery, but the main character is an absolute mess, and as the book goes on he really self-destructs. ETA There is no found family fluff here. With that in mind, maybe Under the Whispering Door by TJ Klune.
