I liked the historical fiction book, Genghis Khan: Birth of An Empire, which was about the strategic takeover of Mongolia by a young man from a small village in the plains.
My other favorite is Whittle: The True Story, which is about Frank Whittle and the persistent effort to establish the first working turbine engine during the war time environment of WWII.
Anything similar to these? I didn’t mind the historical fiction of Genghis Khan because it added dialogue and a deeper story line to an already interesting historical timeline. Whittle on the other hand was very true to form and had a revolutionary piece to it as they were pushing the barriers of science while dealing with bureaucrats.
