I’ve always oddly been fascinated by locomotives and the lives that people live while working on them. I don’t know much about them.
Theres a locomotive train that runs by my house in the early morning hours and nights. At my old job, when I would come home from work late, there were always a few days out of the week when I would pass the train sitting, stopped on the tracks.
I could see light emitting from the area, people moving around, but other than me on the road, them on the train, and the moon above, it was always this eerie, peaceful, mundane nothingness going on, and I always looked forward to seeing it. I always wondered where the people on the train were transporting containers to and what their lives were like.
I’d like to know more about this. Fiction or non-fiction. Heck, even personal stories from those that have lived it.
