I am looking for books that help me to understand important literature. Eg. Homer – Odyssee is philosophical literature and I assume it‘s not easy to understand the original version. Therefore there are books out there that one can read to get a grasp on what it is about. Does this type of category has a name? I am interested in books that would help me to get a better understanding about Dostojewski‘s books, specifically „Crime and Punishment.“ Thank you!
