Sorry if this has been asked before or if I should put flair under it considering it’s a sensitive issue but I’ve always been a fan of horror books and movies, but always felt like animals being victimized is just a cheap shot at trying to shock and upset the readers. It also doesn’t help that I’m hypersensitive to the issue as a whole. I know they’re out there, just wish they were easier to find!
Btw I can deal with brief mentions but I can’t deal with it being drawn out and graphic.

I mostly read sci fi, so **most but not all of** these are sci fi horror. But there’s no animal cruelty!
* The Invincible by Stanislaw Lem
* The Luminous Dead by Caitlin Starling
* Mexican Gothic by Silvia Moreno Garcia
* Sister, Maiden, Monster by Lucy A. Snyder
* Blindsight by Peter Watts, available as a free ebook on his website. The sequel Echopraxia is not available free, but Echopraxia does feature a scene of capturing wild animals for euthanasia and dissection.
Tender Is the Flesh, all the animals have died off, that’s why they are farming people for meat.
