During the day I’ve gotten to finish one of Neil Gaiman’s larger collections simply titled “The Neil Gaiman Reader”. And it is a pretty big collection!
While his other collections also includes his prose poems, this huge collection focuses more on his short fiction and more. And all in chronological order from the 1980s to 2010s, starting with his first story from 1984 to one written in 2018.
Among the short stories there are also novellas and also excerpts from some of his novels. So of course segments from works like “Neverwhere”, “Stardust”, “American Gods”, “Anansi Boys” and “The Ocean at the End of the Lane” are included.
This collection covers a lot of stuff here, and personally I couldn’t have it any other way! In every one of these stories, even including the novel excerpts, Gaiman mixes in fantasy, humor, scifi and horror. And they’re great mixes too!
Yeah, while it may be a large book overall this is probably the best one that is good for anyone who is interested in reading Gaiman’s written fiction. And also a collection that any fan of his work would want in their collection too!
A big book of stories by an author with a huge imagination!
