it’s my last summer before university and i’d really like to get into reading more. i’m looking for books that capture the essence of summer, that feel like an experience, that will make you think and reflect, that will change you. coming of age but also kinda philosophical. my favourite summer book is “call me by your name” for reference. thanks 🙂

I recently finished The Idiot by Elif Batuman. I think it meets the criteria of what you’re looking for. On the surface, it’s about a Harvard freshman with a crush on an older classmate. On a deeper level it’s about coming into your own ways of being and thinking. If you end up enjoying it, I also recommend the sequel, Either/Or. Happy reading! 😊
Read Aristotle and Dante discover the secrets of the universe, this book is amazing.
