I want a contemplative novel. But I want it to feel at least a little otherwordly so hearing about smart phones, guns, big cities, or really any tech like that is no good for me.
While I do want it to be contemplative I also want it to have some sort of edge to it. Maybe the character is caught up in a dangerous situation sometimes or is stressed over a moral dilemma. Not a heavy action focus or anything. But I don’t want to feel safe the whole way through.
