I’m looking for something sad or meloncholy in mood, about someone living in another country, missing their home country, missing speaking their own language, etc.
I’ve read and really enjoyed Daughter of Silence by Morris L West and somewhat enjoyed Foreign Land by Jonathan Raban (on the nose lol) along these lines.
It doesn’t have to be only about that though! Characters doing anything while missing their home country is great.
