Books with a sense of melancholy childhood nostalgia?

I loved Ocean at the End of the Lane by Neil Gaiman. It is such a beautiful book about yearning for the magic of childhood and the complicated feelings that arise around an imperfect childhood. What other books feel like giving your inner child a hug?

I have already read (and enjoyed) everything Gaiman.
