I’m looking for book suggestions that have similar themes too “Demon Copperhead” and “Where the Crawdads Sing”. I was recommended “This Tender Land”, which I also enjoyed but not quite as much as the other two.
I enjoy themes such as bildungsroman, coming of age, hardships and *possibly* overcoming them (basically sad plots that make you *feel* empathy for characters). I really enjoyed the plots of two top books mentioned above, as well as the style in which they were written. I also really enjoy horror, mystery, circle of life (life/death) and good vs evil themes as well.
Things I don’t enjoy: politics based themes (think Star Wars) or medieval settings.
Any suggestions?
