Update: I finished Tropic of Cancer

I’m the guy who posted about having trouble remembering what I read in that book. But I finished it. And I stewed about it for a few days as well.

Overall I liked it. I can see why it was so influential. I enjoyed that it was basically a love letter to living and what living really is vs. what we are expected to think of it as.

However, the writing style simply wasn’t for me. I love good character pieces but this book got a little too carried away with the stream of consciousness style. I might try Tropic of Capricorn just to see how I feel about Henry Miller as a whole but in the end I do think this was a good book. Just not totally my speed.

Currently I’m reading Master and Margarita and I am really loving it so far.
