In 1992, I read a book about someone in the US who had become estranged from their family and was searching for meaning in life. Unfortunately, the protagonist becomes ill and, with time running out, decides to head back home to reconcile with their family. I can’t recall the title or author’s name, but I strongly desire to re-read this book. The book was sent to me from a friend in the US while I was living in London, but I can’t contact her for assistance. Any suggestions or advice would be appreciated. I read the book in 1992, but it could have been published before then.
