Like the title says, looking for non-fiction related to medicine, veterinary medicine, psychology, or crime. Memoirs of people working in these fields are good as long as the focus is the field rather than personal/emotional growth. For crimes, I like well-researched with a conviction and court records, not speculation.
Books I’ve enjoyed/already read:
Medicine: This is Going to Hurt by Adam Kay, When the Air Hits Your Brain by Frank T Vertosick, Complications by Atul Gawande (and the rest of Gawande’s books), Spillover by David Quammen, The Hot Zone by Richard Preston
Psychology: The Boy Who Was Raised as a Dog and Born for Love by Perry and Szalovitz, Why Does He Do That by Lundy Bancroft, The Man Who Mistook his Wife for a Hat by Oliver Sacks (and the rest of Sacks’ books), The Body Keeps the Score, Adult Children of Emotionally Immature Parents
Crime: Our Guys by Bernard Lefkowitz, Slenderman by Kathleen Hale, The Gift of Fear by Gavin de Becker
