I love cats! I’m looking for books, short stories or poems featuring cats! Be it as a main character (like “The Black Cat” by Poe), as a theme (“The Sphynx” by Oscar Wilde) or as a particularly peculiar character (like the Cheshire cat in “Alice in Wonderland”. Bonus points if they’re old. What are your favorite books featuring cats?

I also love cats! A couple suggestions:

      – The Amazing Maurice and his Educated Rodents by Terry Pratchett–The titular Maurice is a cat and a charlatan with a band of rats, quite a funny novel set in the Discworld setting.

      – The Book of Night With Moon by Diane Duane: A team of cat wizards fight evil. Distinctive wizards and distinctive cats.

In terms of poetry, Fog by Carl Sandburg comes to mind?

The Travelling Cat Chronicles! Such a sweet and heartwarming read, def recommend 🙂 It’s written from the POV of the cat which was funny because I swear my cat def has the same sarcastic inner monologue the main character had

To Marry and To Meddle by Martha Waters has a kitten named Cecil Lucifer Beelzebub. Historical romance! It’s a series but you don’t have to read them all you can get by without. But they’re all fun.

    6. *Tailchaser’s Song* by Tad Williams. 2 cats go on a quest to find their missing friend.
